Porcelain to Zirconium Bridges With Mac Veneers

Monday, March 12th, 2007

Here is a beautiful recent result where a combination of empress veneers and porcelain to zirconium bridges were combined. The technology of the porcelain to zirconium has progressed tremendously in the last few years to where the esthetic results match that of empress restorations which are the standard in cosmetic dentistry. The zirconium core is created via a sophisticated CAD-CAM system and the ceramic material is then baked over the core to create a beautiful and strong restoration. These restorations have created new possibilities for us here at Desert Smiles to create lifelike crowns and bridges without metal but with greater strength than traditional non-metal restorations. As we strive to produce the finest in Phoenix cosmetic dentistry, we are constantly searching for technological advances such as this. A few worn, chipped and discolored teeth can greatly detract from one’s appearance and confidence. As we strive to provide the best in Phoenix cosmetic dentistry, we are blessed to work with many wonderful patients. Cosmetic dentistry procedures such as porcelain veneers and crowns make them feel better about themselves and make our work very rewarding. At DesertSmiles the positive feedback we receive from our guests is far more valuable than any monetary consideration. Following treatment we strive to help our patients maintain their cosmetic dentistry for years of smiles.

Sometimes the impact of cosmetic dentistry on someone’s self image, confidence and attitude is amazing. As we strive to provide the best in Phoenix cosmetic dentistry, a picture is truly worth a thousand words.

MAC Veneers were used to transform these malpositioned, tetracycline stained teeth into a fabulous smile.

Cosmetic Bonding

Although the majority of cosmetic dentistry at Desertsmiles is done with porcelain restorations, cosmetic bonding remains a great option in certain cases. This case was done in one visit in less than 2 hours! Bonding is very conservative to the tooth structure and is about one third the cost of veneers. Its biggest drawback is over time it can discolor and pick up stains. Regular polishing of the bonding and being careful about coffee, tea and smoking can also prolong the life expectancy. As we strive to provide the best in Arizona cosmetic dentistry, bonding can transform a smile in one visit for a very reasonable cost.

Zirconium Bridge, Porcelain Veneers and Crowns Combination

As the field of dentistry grows more complex especially in the area of cosmetics, we are seeing more patients who have had recent work done and are unhappy with the outcome. This is especially true in complex smiles designs such as this case where we combined three different technologies, a zirconium to porcelain fixed bridge in harmony with Mac Veneers and empress crowns.

There are many areas of dentistry that we refer to specialists because they can get a better result for our patients. There are no such specialty requirements in doing cosmetic dentistry. Anyone can claim to be a cosmetic dentist, but few have paid the price. It takes hundreds of hours of continuing education because none of the latest techniques are taught in dental schools. Most of the materials and procedures available today were not around even a few years ago. They are constantly changing and evolving. Every case is different. It is not one size or one technique fits all.

Dr. Wilcox is constantly striving to be one of the best in the Phoenix and Glendale area doing cosmetic dentistry. The before picture above was of very recent dental work.

This is the third case in the last few weeks we are redoing. This lovely lady went from frustration to “I love them”. That makes all the hard work worthwhile.

As we strive to be the best in Phoenix cosmetic dentistry, we spend considerable time and money to stay on the cutting edge of what is available.

This gentleman had been wearing a removable denture for many years. With his business growing he felt the need to have a better smile for his professional life as well as his personal self-image. Needless to say he is extremely happy with restorations that feel like real teeth and look great! Implants would have been another option to support the missing teeth either with bridges or permanent dentures. Dr. Wilcox also performed tooth whitening on the lower teeth to match the new bridges.

Tetracycline

SHOTT BEFORE SMILE.jpg shottaftersmile.jpg

Many people suffer the effects of taking the antibiotic tetracycline during the formative years of their permanent teeth. The dark gray and brown stains are very resistant to tooth bleaching or whitening techniques. In this case veneers and tissue contouring (gum lift) have created a beautiful smile where unsightly darkness existed before. Another happy cosmetic dentistry patient treated by Dr. Wilcox and the staff of Desertsmiles.
